Suicide First Aid and Suicide First Aid Lite

Suicide First Aid is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to provide initial assistance in situations where someone may be experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviours.
The course focuses on developing a deeper understanding of suicide, recognising warning signs, and applying intervention techniques to support individuals in crisis. Participants will learn how to create a safe environment for conversation, assess risks, and use proven strategies to connect people with professional support. The course will help to build confidence, give skills and knowledge and demystify an often misunderstood topic.

In 2022, there were 6,588 registered deaths by suicide across the UK. Suicide prevention continues to be a pressing concern, with experts calling for increased investment and public health strategies to address this ongoing crisis.
Upon completing the course, participants will be able to recognise early signs of distress, confidently approach difficult conversations, and apply life-saving strategies to help prevent suicide.
